
Fuzhuan tea brick is one of the dark teas from Hunan Province. The most distinctive feature of this tea is undoubtably the golden fungus in between the tea leaves. The Fuzhuan tea brick is made out of high quality Máo Chá (a mostly unoxidized green tea processed from a larger leaf variety of the Camellia sinensis) which is treated to activate the enzymes, then graded and bagged, mixed, steamed, naturally oxidized, softened with steam, pressed into a brick, allowed fungal fermentation, dried and then finally stored and sold.
Fuzhuan tea brick is scientifically proved to have serious health benefits. The golden fungus (Eurotium Cristatum) grew with fermentation inside the brick has enzymes and small molecular metabolic substances which help improve digestion, reduce blood fat and cholesterol, lower blood pressure and generally improve your metabolism. The Fuzhuan tea brick also has tea polysaccharides compound, which adjusts the sugar metabolism in a way that it helps against diabetes. Because of the microbial fermentation the Fuzhuan tea brick also has natural anti-bacterial effects.
Yi Pin Fu Zhuan Brick is 400g per piece. A tea knife is necessary to take small piece from the brick. Mouya also prepares smaller packages (cut and break from original brick) for customers who are new to dark tea. This tea is much stronger than other teas like green tea or white tea, and the taste is completely different; thus, we recommend you to buy small amount the first time and brew a little bit lighter to start with.
